Laser Therapy

Laser Therapy

Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) or Photobiomodulation (PBM) is a non-invasive, low intensity light therapy. It alters cellular activity via photochemical effects. That is similar to photosynthesis in plants, where light is absorbed by cells and triggers chemical changes. There are no heating effects (non-thermal).

One of the main mechanisms of action occurs in the mitochondria.

The applied near infra-red laser light can strongly affect:
▪ inflammation
▪ pain
▪ scar tissue // interference fields*
▪ oxidative stress
▪ ATP-Production (cellular energy)
▪ lymph drainage
▪ microcirculation
▪ hematoma/bruises

*If a scar „bothers“ you, you are very welcome to book an appointment. A lot of patients complain about painful scars, numbness even in areas around the scar or just unpleasant feelings. With the help of the laser they can perceive changes sometimes within the scope of one treatment.
